Simple, Two-Ingredient Body Scrub
This morning I was reminded by a friend of this super simple, two-ingredient body scrub.
A few hours ago I whipped used coffee grounds and coconut oil together for an invigorating morning shower. You can use fresh coffee grounds (they will be much more aromatic) but I typically save the fresh stuff for drinking. You could also swap half of the used grounds for some freshly ground coffee if you wanted to meet somewhere in the middle. Here’s how to make it:
Place about 1 cup of coffee grounds into a bowl
Scoop 1.5-2 tablespoons melted coconut oil into the bowl
Mix vigorously with a fork (I like to use a stand mixer if I’m making a larger batch)
That’s it! Use caution in the shower because it will make things slippery. Work the scrub over your skin in downward strokes, making circles around the joints. If you’d like to save some for later, store in a sealed container and stick it in the fridge. Be sure to take it out and allow to come to room temp before using again.
This is a great exfoliant to use on cloudy/rainy mornings when you are feeling sluggish.
Happy scrubbing, coffee lovers!
